Camp O’Donnell – The Training and Doctrine Command welcomed its new Commander Brigadier General Luis Rex D Bergante, PA, through a Change of Command Ceremony presided by Lieutenant General Romeo S Brawner Jr, the Commanding General, Philippine Army at Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on 27 February 2023.

         BGen Bergante is the Assistant Division Commander of 7th (Kaugnay) Division prior his assumption as the 59th Commander of TRADOC. His significant designations include Acting Commander and General Officer-In-Charge of the same division, Brigade Commander of 1001 BDE and Chief of Staff of the 10 Infantry (Agila) Division. He completed his Masters degree in Business Administration of UP, Diliman and a proud member of PMA “Bigkis-Lahi” Class of 1990.

          Meanwhile, the outgoing Acting Commander Brigadier General Alvin V Flores, belongs to the Philippine Military Academy “Tanglaw-Diwa” Class of 1992 and earned his Master in Business Administration from De La Salle University, Master in Public Management from Development Academy of the Philippines, and Master in National Security Administration from National Defense College of the Philippines.


          “It’s with great honor and responsibility that I accept the helm of the Army’s premier education and training institution. To all members of Pangkat TRADOC, always remember, we are responsible for preparing Army forces through education, training and the integration of doctrines with Army capabilities; to face current threats (right now, the ending of the local communist armed conflict), as well as emerging and future security challenges.” BGen Bergante guaranteed in his message.

          LtGen Brawner in his message congratulates the new Commander of TRADOC. “BGen Bergante, with your leadership, I expect that you will continue to pursue the foundations that were set forth by your predecessors, identify and address the Command’s varying issues and concerns, and implement innovative and pragmatic programs and policies for the unit to maintain its reputation.”, he accentuated in his message.

          Strict observation of IATF and COVID19 protocols was implemented during the entire activity.
