Camp O’Donnell, Capas Tarlac – The SALAKNIB 2023 formally culminates on 04 April 2023 at Headquarters, 1st Brigade Combat Team (1BCT), Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija.

         MGen Audrey L Pasia PA., the Commander, 5ID served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker together with Col Michael A Van Welie, Deputy Commander for Interoperability, 25th Infantry Division, US Army.

         “To ensure the survival of any individual or group, one must be able to protect itself or group from any threat, the basic key is the must to be prepared to defend, and as much as possible not to leave or entrust its survival to others” MGen Pasia emphasized.

         The Training and Doctrine Command, Philippine Army under the sterling leadership of Brigadier General Luis Rex D Bergante, is the unit primary responsible in the overall implementation of the PH-US Exercise SALAKNIB 2023.

         SALAKNIB (Shield) is a bilateral annual exercise between the U.S. Army Pacific and the Philippine Army designed to contribute and enhance the U.S. and Philippine defense readiness and tactical interoperability while establishing the relationship between the two enduring partners.
