Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac – The Training and Doctrine Command, Philippine Army, through the Officer Candidate School (OCS) conducted the Recognition Rites of Officer Candidate Course (OCC) "KATARAKIAN" Class 61-2024 held at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Peace Keeping Operations Center (AFP-PKOC) Grandstand, Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on 09 March 2024 with AMBASSADOR GENEROSO DG CALONGE, the Assistant Secretary for Maritime and Ocean Affairs, Department of Foreign Affairs as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

          In his remarks, Ambasador Calonge instilled in the minds and hearts of the future leaders of the Army the importance of sacrifice and commitment to duty in shaping the character and ethos of military service for future leaders of the Army.

          Meanwhile, these aspiring officers of the Army is composed of 354 Officer Candidates who are currently undergoing rigorous training, whose motivation to surpass the most difficult part of the training is their dedication to serve the country that will give pride and honor to their families.

          The Class name “KATARAKIAN” is a Kankana-ey word which means “Matikis and Matinding” and stands as the official class name with an acronym of “Katihang binigkis ng Talino’t lakas, Respeto at Kagitingan ang Kinikilala at Nangingibabaw”.
