Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac – The Training and Doctrine Command, Philippine Army conducted the formal Opening Ceremony and Reception Rites of Officer Candidate Course Class 59-2023 at Makabulos Grandstand, Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on 12 January 2023.

          348 young professionals, composed of 294 males and 54 females, who came from the different provinces across the country were formally received by the Initial Military Training Center through the Officer Candidate School during the ceremony that signals the start of their one (1) year military training as Officer Candidates of the Philippine Army. This new aspiring leaders displayed exemplary talents and skills during the series of selection and deliberation conducted by Headquarters, Philippine Army.

          Police Brigadier General Benjamin H Silo Jr PNP, Regional Director, PRO11, PNP served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. “Let us dedicate ourselves to deliver our future generations the gift of security and peace that were obtained for us by those who sacrificed so much in defense of our freedom,” PBGEN Silo emphasized.

          Police Brigadier General Silo also become one of the deserving recipients of the prestigious OCS Hall of Fame Award, as one of the proud members of the AFP Officer Candidate School “MARANGAL” Class 07-1991.

          Strict observation of IATF anti-COVID protocols was implemented during the entire activity.
