Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac - Willingness and determination brought the 209 young professionals into the heights of success after they were officially proclaimed Second Lieutenants of the Philippine Army on 14 December 2022 which marked the start of their official entry in the profession of arms upon their graduation.
Twenty-one (21) members of Officer Candidate Course Reserved Officer Training Corps “ALAMAT” Class 02-2022 and One Hundred Eighty-eight (188) members of Officer Candidate Course “KABINNADANG” Class 57-2022 culminated the 1-year pre-entry course for Army officers after they have surmounted 9 months of rigorous training.
Senior Undersecretary Jose C Faustino, the Officer-in-Charge of the Department of National Defense, graced the occasion as he reminded the graduates on the importance of duty and the weight of responsibility being in the military service. Further, he emphasized that as new leaders, they should always adhere towards excellence in pursuing the profession.
From these two classes two females emerged and excelled on top of their classes: 2LT Jerenet C Adawe from OCC ROTC Class 02-2022 and 2LT Karla Angela Guste of Tondo, Manila and member of OCC Class 57-2022.
These new Second Lieutenants were already degree holders and excelled in their own fields of expertise, but chose to leave their civilian lives to serve the country.
Strict observation of IATF anti-COVID19 protocols was implemented during the entire activity.
