CHIEF OF STAFF, TRADOC, PA
COL JULIUS A CABARLOC MNSA (INF) PA is the current Chief of Staff, Training and Doctrine Command Philippine Army who assumed office on 5 May 2023. Prior to his assumption, he served as the Command Inspector General.
As a new lieutenant he was assigned in the 5th Infantry (Star) Division, Philippine Army based in Gamu, Isabela, and further assigned with the 48th Infantry Battalion where he served as Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, Company Commander and later as the Battalion Intelligence Officer. After serving for four (4) years with 48IB, 5ID, PA, he was assigned to the different units of the AFP.
Col Cabarloc served significant positions in different levels of command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines that earned him the distinct credit of being a seasoned Intelligence and Operations officer and an accomplished commander.
Among his significant designations was when he became the Battalion Commander of 64th Infantry (Knights) Battalion, 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division, Philippine Army based in Sumisip, Basilan, one of the most challenging and critical area during that time. During his stint, his notable accomplishment was the surrender of a notorious abu-sayyaf sub leader together with his nine members bringing with them high powered and short fire arms with several ammunitions.
He finished military and civilian schooling to widen his leadership skills and knowledge, such as Command and General Staff Course (CGSC) in 2015 where he was among the top graduates with distinction, Infantry Officer Basic Course, Basic Airborne Course, Intelligence Officer Basic Course. Likewise, Masters in National Security Administration before he was designated as the Command Inspector General.
With his dedication to duty and undivided service to the nation, he became a recipient of various awards and commendations, such as: Bronze Cross Medal, Military Merit Medal, Military Commendation Medal, Parachutist Badge, Luzon Campaign Medal, Visayas Campaign Medal, Min-Zulu Campaign Medal, Gawad sa Kaunlaran Medal, Sagisag ng Ulirang Kawal, numerous Letters of Commendation, Certificates of Recognition and Appreciations, both from military and civilian sectors.
He hailed from Baguio City, Benguet and finished his secondary education at the University of Baguio High School, Baguio City and had two (2) years in college at the University of Baguio, prior to his entry in PMA where he graduated after four years and became a proud member of PMA “Bantay-Laya” Class of 1994.
COL CABARLOC was born on 19 January 1972 in Baguio Benguet and happily married to former Sheila Sanchez of Dagupan City, Pangasinan, blessed with one daughter and one son namely: Julia Shelina Sanchez and Julian Santino Sanchez who are equally talented in sports and academics.
