MAJOR GENERAL DANILO D BENAVIDES assumed his post as the 60^th Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command, Philippine Army on 16 July 2024.

          Among his notable duties are Deputy Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Assistant Division Commander of the 5th Infantry (STAR) Division (5ID), Commander of the 502nd Infantry (Liberator) Brigade, 5ID, Chief of the Unified Command Staff of the Southern Luzon Command, Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence, G2 of 6th Infantry Division, Commanding Officer of 75th Infantry Battalion, and 6th Military Intelligence Battalion.

          His military journey started in 1991 as a platoon leader of Charlie Company and later company commander of Alpha Company, 73rd Infantry Battalion, 7th Infantry Division.

          He is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy “SAMBISIG” Class of 1991. He took up numerous military Courses such as the Basic Airborne Course, Intel Officer Basic Course, Military Intel Collection Course, Field Artillery Officer Basic and Advance Courses, and Command and General Staff Course.

        Aside from military courses MGEN BENAVIDES finished several civilian schoolings such as the Project Planning Development and Management Course at the Asian Institute of Management; Master’s in public management at the Development Academy of the Philippines; and Master in National Security Administration at the National Defense College of the Philippines, Quezon city.

          MGEN BENAVIDES is a seasoned and well-decorated officer. He is a recipient of numerous awards and decorations such as Distinguished Service Star, Gawad sa Kaunlaran, Bronze Cross Medal, Silver Wing Medal, Military Merit Medal, Sagisag ng Ulirang Kawal, Military Civic Action Medal, Military Commendation Medals and other commendations, Certificate of Recognition and appreciation from both military and civilian authorities.

         He was born on 29 October 1968 in Anao, Tarlac. He is happily married to Mrs. Raelyn Valenton-Benavides, and blessed with two sons, Danrae Joniel and Darrel Andrae.
