COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR, TRADOC, PA
          CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT FERDINAND C LASCANO 762680 (MI) PA assumed the position of Command Sergeant Major of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Philippine Army on 01 February 2021. He was enlisted in the Philippine Army on 13 May 1988.

          CMS LASCANO began his military career as an Infantry man assigned with the 1st Infantry Battalion, 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division based in Bicol region. His intelligence career commenced in 1997, when he was transferred to the Intelligence Service, AFP (ISAFP). In April 2004, he was posted to the Office of the Philippine Defense and Armed Forces Attaché in France and Spain as Administrative Assistant for a period of three (3) years.

          After his foreign posting, he was designated as Chief NCO at the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, J2. He was also detailed in the Joint Force Mindanao in 2008 as part of the Intelligence Cell during the height of conflict with MILF. His designation to key NCO leadership positions continued when he was transferred to the Office of the Commander, Southern Luzon Command, and the Office of the Chief, ISAFP in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

          CMS LASCANO was assigned with TRADOC in September 2017, and assumed the position of Assistant Command Sergeant Major. In November 2017, he became the

Sergeant Major of the Training and Development Center until February 2020. Prior to his assumption as Command Sergeant Major in February 2021, he served as Sergeant Major of the Combined Arms Center.

          CMS LASCANO has undergone various military and civilian schoolings both local and foreign to hone his leadership skills. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology in Manuel S Enverga University Foundation and Master’s Degree in Public Management in Northwest Samar State University with the thesis entitled: “Resiliency, Organizational Commitment, and Performance of Military Personnel at the Training and Doctrine Command, Philippine Army in Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac under the New Normal”. He also took the Master Resiliency Training in the University of Pennsylvania, USA. As for his Professional Military Education, he finished the Military Intelligence NCO Basic Course (MINCOBC) at The Intelligence School, ISG, PA; Enlisted Personnel Intelligence Course (EPIC) and Enlisted Personnel Administrative Assistant Course (EPAAC) at the Special Intelligence Training School, ISAFP; and Sergeant Major Course (SMC) at the United States Army Sergeant Major Academy in Fort Bliss, Texas.

          In addition to the NCO career and specialization courses, he also attended trainings and seminars that are relevant to his current designation such as Training of Trainers on Leadership conducted by the AFP Leadership Development Center; Instructor Development Training Trainers Course; Curriculum Development Course; and Assessment Development Training conducted by TRADOC. He also attended civilian International Symposium on Program Evaluation in Security Studies and International Research Forum. In May 2017, he was the guest speaker during the observance of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month held in Centennial Banquet and Conference Center in Fort Bliss, Texas.

          CMS Lascano
is a recipient of various decorations, medals and ribbons, badges, Command Plaques, and letters of commendation and appreciation from both the military and civilian institutions. CMS Lascano was also conferred with the coveted Metrobank “The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS)” in 2015.
